Online Coupons

The best things in life are never rationed. Friendship, loyalty, love, do not require coupons.

But for everything else, coupons are awesome!

Imagine managing to get to buy what you wanted but at a lower price? Imagine the smug satisfaction? It's a good feeling isn't it?!

So coupons = good feeling!

There are tonnes of sites floating around like http://www.coupons.com/ and http://www.retailmenot.com/ which offer all sorts of coupons!

All you have to do is search carefully - you'll always find some really awesome coupon codes which can help you save a significant amount of money!

It's also a great idea to actually sign up for most of these E-Commerce sites for their daily deals and promotions. I know its quite spammy but consider creating a separate folder for all such mails so that you can actually just search for the coupon codes as and when you need them!

I use this tactic A LOT! For example, I needed to buy an external hard disk drive.

Thanks to a quick research done online, I got a 10% discount coupon code and actually got a great deal!

So what was going to cost me Rs. 4050, cost me Rs. 3645!

Well, a penny saved is a penny earned!

Happy penny-earning-days to all of you! :)

Shopping during Sales!

Shopping is brilliant!

Don't lie to yourself and claim that you don't like new things!

Come on, spill it!

Everyone likes new stuff! No wait, Everyone LOVES new stuff!

But the issue is with budgets, so here's what I do - I wait - for the SALE season to kick in!

I love that red "SALE" sign plastered over shops! It gives me such a kick to find a shop on sale and find something that is just crazy to be sold at that much reduced price! Adrenaline rush baby!

Sales are the best value that your money can get you! None of it is really THAT out of fashion or style! Those malls just want to clear out space for more stuff so they tempt you with discounts - which is FABULOUS!!!

So far, I've experienced the Great Singapore Sale and just loved it!

I got myself this G2000 dress which was retailing at S$100 for just S$40!

And this formal slim fit shirt for the boyfriend which usually costs S$39 for just S$19!

Ka-ching!!!

And guess what?! The Dubai Shopping Festival is going to take place while I am in Dubai!

Jan 3 to Feb 3 2013!

CANNOT WAIT!!

Deal Sites

Hello!

So you're interested in enjoying the pleasure of life but are worried that you'll end up spending a significant amount?

Fear no more!

Allow me to introduce you to deal sites - the most famous being Groupon!

Deal sites like these are an awesome ways to start saving money while enjoying the world! All you have to do is regularly keep a tab on the kinds of deals on offer!

When it comes to deal sites:

1. Know that deals are updated every day for a limited period of time.
2. Sign up their newsletters to get daily updates (there's always an 'unsubscribe' link at the end of every mail in case you don't like the deals at all)
3. Glance over the deals everyday - you never know what you'd find!
4. Read the terms and conditions of the deal that you think looks interesting in detail first.
5. Buy the deal as soon as it you find it worth the money after reading the fine print - I have missed out on a couple of great deals because I procrastinated! :(
6. Most accept credit card, net banking and PayPal as a mode of payment for the deals.

There is this one deal that I bought from Groupon Singapore - iFly training - http://www.groupon.sg/deals/singapore/iFly-Singapore/716319589

It was brilliant! I paid just $55!

My friends had actually paid $128 for 2 skydives and extra $30 for the DVD! And I managed to get 2Skydives + Flight DVD + Mojito at iFly Singapore in Sentosa!

Ain't that just brilliant?!

Go on! Don't wait! Sign up! (I've signed up for like 4 different deal sites in every city I live in! ;) )

Yes! You Can Have Fun On A Budget!

Budgets suck.

No, I'm not talking about the budgets created by Finance Ministers for countries. I'm talking about the budgets that our lives force upon us. I'm talking about the budgets that our salaries, our families, our wishes, our wants, our desires and our constraints pose on us.

They really suck.

But.

I think I've been able to find a way to do what I feel like doing, when I feel like doing and how I feel like doing by cutting down on paying for things that are not so important in my scheme of life.

And I'm going to try and list them down just so it could possibly help those people who might need a teensy bit of help to help them live in a way that it won't stretch their budget too much.

If you're one of them or someone who like to read tips in general, Welcome! Feel free to read and browse! Good luck with the savings!
